King David transported the Ark to Jerusalem. Along the way, however, the oxen pulling it stumbled, and a man named Uzzah reached out to steady the Ark, and God struck him down immediately. Because of this, David decided to leave the Ark at the home of Obed-edom the Gittite. Three months later, he moved it to Jerusalem, where it remained until the construction of the First Temple by David's son Solomon. Upon the arrival of the Ark to Jerusalem to Jerusalem, David was elated, and went to sing and dance in the streets, much to the chagrin of his wife Michal.
